Position Summary :
The Porter Rotational Education Program (P.R.E.P) Internship is an 8-to-12-week program within the Warehouse and Sales departments.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the wholesale distribution industry while contributing to the success of our business.
As an Intern, you will work closely with our team, assisting in various aspects of our operations and customer service.
Essential Functions :
- Support Sales and Customer Service : Assist our sales and customer service teams in handling inquiries, processing orders, and providing exceptional support to our valued customers.
- Inventory Management : Participate in managing inventory, including stock levels, order fulfillment, and ensuring product availability for our customers.
- Product Knowledge : Learn about our product offerings, including pipes, valves, and fittings, to be able to assist customers with their inquiries and product selection.
- Assist with Marketing : Collaborate on marketing initiatives, such as creating content, updating the website, and participating in promotional campaigns.
- Administrative Tasks : Provide general administrative support, including data entry, document management, and maintaining organized records.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with various departments to gain a well-rounded understanding of our business operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Currently pursuing a degree in business, marketing, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks and challenges.
- Enthusiastic, team-oriented, and have a desire to learn and grow.
- Requires the ability to effectively build rapport with both internal and external customers.
- Requires a positive attitude and ability to function independently and in a team setting.
- Must be able to communicate in English with regard to the essential functions of the position.
Physical Demands :
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and / or pull 50 lbs.
- Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
- Requires the ability to stand and walk long distances for extended periods of time.
- Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes.
