Reporting to the Director, reviews and reconciles financial data on audit reports from grantees in accordance with the Uniform Guidance and the Grant Accountability and Transparency Act (GATA).
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Reviews federal audit reports from school districts, joint agreements and other entities in accordance with the Uniform Guidance.
- Reconciles financial data as needed, provides guidance to agency staff to assist in reviews of corrective action plans and drafting of management decision letters.
- Reviews financial audit reports from non-district grantees and reconciles financial data as needed, provides guidance to agency staff to assist in reviews of corrective action plans and drafting of management decision letters.
- Provides technical and other assistance via email, phone, written correspondence and workshops to certified public accountants, school district personnel, joint agreement administrators, regional superintendents and other administrators related to state and federal laws, regulations and governmental accounting / auditing standards.
- Reviews agreed upon procedure reports, provides guidance to agency staff to assist in reviews of corrective action plans and drafting of management decision letters.
- Assists with GATA requirements related to risk assessment, internal controls, indirect costs, etc.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Public Administration or Business Management in compliance and regulatory environment or related field.

- Two years of experience in related field.
- Knowledge of accounting systems.
- Ability to handle complex data analysis.
- Good interpersonal skills necessary for cooperative working relationships.
Preferred Qualifications :
Auditing coursework, CPA, CGAP, or CIA.
