Summary : This position plays a vital role in our mission to fight hunger by ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of warehouse activities.
You will help safeguard the safe storage and fair distribution of nourishing food to families, individuals, and partner agencies in need.
Additionally, you’ll contribute by supporting pantry deliveries and pickups, making a direct impact on our community's well-being.
FLSA Classification : Non-exempt; hourly
Pay Range : $17.00-18.00 per hour
Spanish Bilingual differential : $0.75 per hour (as eligible)
Position Type : Contract; Full-time, 40 hours per week, starting in October 2024 and anticipated through February 2025.
Work Schedule : Mon-Fri; 8 : 00a-4 : 30p with the ability to flex hours to accommodate business needs including occasional weekend hours.

Remote Eligibility : This position is not eligible to work from home.

WAREHOUSE SUPPORT (95%)
- Responsible for order pulling, invoicing through CERES software, loading, and delivering products as needed.
- Provide support and backup to the Operations team when necessary.
- Maintain warehouse inventory and work with the operations team to reduce food waste and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Accept incoming donations following proper procedures, ensuring they are coded, inspected for food safety, and donor receipts are created as required.
- Assist in the preparation and support of onsite and offsite special events and distributions as assigned.
- Safely operate forklifts and electric / manual pallet jacks to move, organize, and store products efficiently.
- Perform general housekeeping tasks throughout the warehouse, including completing Master Sanitation forms to ensure food safety, FIFO, pest control, and cleanliness.

- Maintain adherence to FBLC safety, OSHA, and food safety standards, prioritizing safety for oneself and others, including when operating company equipment or vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

COMPETENCIES : The Seasonal Warehouse Technician must have attention to detail for accurate inventory and food safety compliance, proficiency with warehouse equipment, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively while delivering excellent customer service.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE : High School Diploma or equivalent required, along with prior warehouse experience. Must hold a current forklift certification or be willing to obtain certification, which will be provided by the organization.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING REQUIREMENTS :
- Successful completion of all pre-screening requirements.
- 21+ years of age and possession of a valid U.S. Driver's License with a good driving record, as confirmed through an MVR check.
LANGUAGE SKILLS & ABILITY : Proficiency in English required, bilingual in Spanish highly preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS :
- Prefer experience with Inventory and Project Management systems, especially Microsoft Navision Ceres 2009.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies is essential.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This position has no direct reports but may support the coordination of volunteers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT : Primarily works in a warehouse setting with occasional outdoor exposure to various elements like cold, heat, and rain with occasional visits to partner and / or community locations.

TRAVEL : Local travel between the 3 organizational sites is the primary expectation during business hours. Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related travel.
