Sr Staff Accountant - Remote

As a Senior Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in our finance team, ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis to support our business operations and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for multiple properties within the hospitality portfolio.
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with operational teams to optimize financial performance and cost efficiencies.
• Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.
• Manage and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Assist with external audits and tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
• Stay updated on industry regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Support special projects and initiatives as directed by senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting roles within the hospitality or related industry.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Leadership qualities with a track record of team collaboration and mentorship.
• Experience with property management systems (PMS) or hospitality-specific software is a plus.
