Environmental Scientist
G2 Consulting Group is looking for a full-time Environmental Scientist with minimum five years of demonstrated experience to join our Environmental Consulting Department at our headquarters in Troy, Michigan.
Environmental Scientist will perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations is required.
Asbestos Building Inspector is a major plus.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Environmental / Ecological or other related fields
- Minimum five years of demonstrated experience in environmental consulting
- Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
- Asbestos Building Inspector strongly preferred
- Phase 1 Site Assesments
- HAZWOPER training preferred
- Certified Lead Paint Inspector preferred
- Certified Wetland Specialist preferred
- AutoCAD skills preferred
- Strong prioritization and coordination skills, self-directed and self-motivated
- Good administrative and time management skills with keen attention to detail
- Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance and have an excellent driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Willingness to work outside
- Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends, and travel requiring out of town, overnight stays
Responsibilities and Duties
- Represent G2 in a professional manner on assigned sites
- Preparation of reports in a variety of formats
- Preparing work and health and safety plans
- Conducting soil and groundwater investigations and sampling
- Remediation system operation and maintenance
- Data entry, management, and analysis
