Sigvaris is currently looking for a Production Lead to join our team in Holland, MI. As a leading compression solution provider, we are not just a company that manufactures products.

Under the general direction of the Production Supervisor, the Production Lead is responsible for providing direction, training and guidance to employees in their shift / department to ensure all tasks involved in the production of various garments are completed within established guidelines.
SHIFT :
1st : 7 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m. If you have to work overtime, it will not be on a Sunday!
PAY PLUS BONUSES :
- $20 per hour with an increase every six months during the first year
- Opportunity to earn $100 Attendance Bonus payments per quarter.*

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Organizes and communicates shift / department goals to all employees and resolves any issues related to the completion of expected goals.
- Operates hand trucks / pallet jacks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
- Maintains inventory of Work in Process / Raw Material items as indicated by the ERP System or as directed by management.
- Train all new employees on proper methods of running automatic sewing machines.
- Ensure fulfillment of all documentation needed for training new employees, training matrix, suitable maintenance, etc.
- Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
- Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Operations Supervisor.
- Reads work orders / production schedules to determine specifications.
- Monitors machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread or machine malfunctions.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Maintains, cleans, and lubricates machines.
- Complies with all OSHA and company safety rules.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory levels and managing the cycle counts in the designated area.
- Participate and implement Continuous Improvement activities in the facility.
- Implement / Sustain the 5S+ Safety program in the designated area.
- Fosters positive morale among staff, by promotion of open communication with all departments, to help create and maintain an innovative and cooperative staff relationship and environment.
o Interacts with external and internal customers in a manner conducive to continued positive relationships.
o Displays patience, courtesy and tact; demonstrates flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to cooperate while working with others or in place of others as necessary.
Demonstrates effective communication methods.
o Director of Operations and / or appropriate management staff are kept informed of developments affecting their functions.
o Responds quickly to all oral and written communications.
o Maintains and encourages an open line of communication with both internal and external customers.
o Checks and responds to voice mail messages in a timely manner.
o Accurately and legibly presents written data to affected internal / external customer.
- Follows established company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with SIGVARIS policies, industry standards, ISO 13485 standards, and Federal, State and local laws.
- Follows all work instructions, creates and maintains accurate records to meet all internal and external requirements to support the SIGVARIS Quality System and Quality Policy.
- Accurately performs any other duties and responsibilities as assigned to ensure an efficient workflow.
Requirements
EDUCATION and WORK EXPERIENCE :
- A high school diploma and / or equivalent in education and experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in manufacturing with prior leadership experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
This job involves moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment is low to moderate. Occasionally, exposed to both warm and cold air.
- Occasionally required to sit, walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, bend, lift or climb.
- Regularly required to lift over 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; finger dexterity and hand coordination is required.
- The ability to use hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble small and large objects is required.
- Specific vision abilities required for this include : close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus.
