As a Software Systems Test Engineer you will be responsible for;

Our test system is made of unit tests, component tests and system tests (integration tests). They are situated at different stages of the pipeline and executed with different cadence and mechanism.

They are supposed to protect the software quality, but they are causing problems because the tests are poorly structured, maintained, and documented.

A contractor is expected to work with SDEs on the team to understand how the test system works, then work independently to improve the system.

High level expectation

• Conduct a comprehensive survey of all existing tests. Understand test purpose, inputs, outputs, and pass criteria for each test
• Based on the survey above, this individual will create a catalog of tests, documentation template, and document each test.
• Remove duplicated tests; refactor tests to improve quality and performance
• Build a dashboard to monitor test results, track broken tests and bug fixes
• Auto-detect test scope : figure out what tests must be run based on code changes
• Restructure test hierarchy as needed
• Qualifications;
• Must have : Java, Mockito, Spring
• Must have : experience with CI / CD pipeline
• Must have : experience with test system, QA process, test framework, test automation
• Nice to have : experience with AWS
• Nice to have : Docker container experience
• Nice to have : engineering background or engineering project experience

Salary Range : $100K-$140K

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience

Location : 100% on-site in Westborough, MA
