This role is crucial in providing physical therapy services within local schools, helping students improve their physical function and participate fully in their educational experience.
Qualifications :
- Education : Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Licensure : Current and valid PTA license in the state.
- Experience : Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Skills : Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and the ability to implement therapy plans effectively.
Responsibilities :
- Assist licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) in conducting physical therapy assessments.
- Implement individualized treatment plans to address students' physical therapy needs.
- Provide direct physical therapy services, focusing on improving students' mobility, strength, and coordination.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other team members to support students' physical and academic success.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of therapy sessions, student progress, and other required documentation.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions as needed.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in physical therapy.
