Position Description :
This is an onsite role in Pittsburgh, PA. Candidate must be located in Pittsburgh, PA.
CGI is looking for a Mainframe / COBOL developer with CICS experience to work independently with the client and business to develop solutions, create requirements, and deliver.
Successful candidates with have a mix of leadership and hands-on delivery capability.
Your future duties and responsibilities :
- Writing, modifying, and debugging COBOL programs to meet business requirements.
- Technical analysis and design, code and testing coordination
- Gathering and documenting system requirements.
- Working collaboratively with team members and cross-functional team to perform impact analysis and root cause analysis
- Identifying opportunities to improve the performance of COBOL programs, such as optimizing SQL queries, reducing processing time, or minimizing resource utilization
Required qualifications to be successful in this role :
- Mainframe development expertise in COBOL and CICS
- Excellent Enterprise Architecture and Development Skills
- Experience with the z / OS stack
- Experience with IDMS
- Some exposure to agile software development methodology.
- Define coding standards to ensure and secure code integrity.
- Excellent communication skills
