Duties :
- Draft and prosecute chemistry patent applications, focusing on organic chemistry.
- Conduct patentability and prior art searches.
- Analyze technical documents and advise on patent strategy.
- Collaborate with inventors, scientists, and clients to understand inventions and draft patent specifications.
- Assist in patent litigation and enforcement actions related to chemistry patents.
Requirements :
- Advanced degree in Chemistry, with a specialization in Organic Chemistry (Ph.D. preferred) or significant industrial experience (5+ years) in organic chemistry.
- 2-6 years of experience in intellectual property law, specifically in patent prosecution.
- Admission to at least one State Bar (Connecticut preferred) and registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Superior academic credentials with a strong record of achievement.
- Experience in drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications.
- Knowledge of patent laws and regulations, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry.
Education and Certifications :
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or a related field.
- Admission to at least one State Bar (Connecticut Bar preferred).
- Registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
