Position : Field Service Technician
Location : Nashville, TN
Salary Range : $65,000 - $75,000 per year, plus performance bonus
Overview of the Role : We are seeking a self-motivated Field Service Technician who excels in customer interactions, possesses strong technical writing skills, and can contribute to product improvement recommendations for the Product Development Group.
The Field Service Technician will work independently to assemble, commission, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot systems both domestically and internationally.
Requirements :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a decision-making Field Service role
- Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (domestic and international)
- Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
- Preferred knowledge of PLCs
- Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical schematics
- Strong proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a Windows environment
- Clean driving record
- Comfortable working at heights
- Experience with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity is essential. Experience with Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platforms will be highly valued.
- Must possess or be eligible to acquire a valid passport for international travel
Responsibilities :
- Regularly interact with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors.
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating the participation of relevant parties for equipment installation and start-up activities.
- Coordinate internal communication to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries.
- Perform onsite and remote troubleshooting of PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment.
- Conduct repairs on equipment at customer facilities, including both warranty and non-warranty claims.
- Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations.
- Ensure accurate implementation of pre-commissioning activities in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines, while maintaining quality reports.
- Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as specified for customer acceptance.
- Support the project team in clearing and signing-off on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items.
- Attend project and construction meetings as necessary.
- Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel.
- Act as a trouble-shooter, analyzing and resolving technical issues onsite and providing ongoing support to customers.
- Independently coordinate site visits with customers and / or end-users.
- Independently handle travel arrangements, such as airfare, lodging, and ground transportation.
- Provide direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering during testing and field service activities.
