Miami Country Day School, an independent, coeducational learning community with approximately 1,380 students in pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12 seeks an experienced, thoughtful fundraiser with a proven track record to serve as its next Chief Advancement Officer (CAO).
Reporting to the President and Head of School, the CAO will oversee all aspects of fundraising and lead the school’s efforts to secure annual, capital, and endowment support and strengthen its growing culture of philanthropy.
With belief in the school’s mission and promise, the CAO will help shape the strategic direction of Miami Country Day School and facilitate a new era of fundraising and constituent relations.
This will be accomplished through the creation and oversight of a comprehensive, goal-based, strategic development plan and the cultivation and stewardship of meaningful relationships within the community.
The CAO will increase Miami Country Day School’s financial resources by planning, directing, implementing, and evaluating all fundraising programs, including the Spartan Impact Fund, major gifts, planned giving, trustee giving, and campaign efforts to support programs, facilities, and the endowment.
Leading a fundraising team of seven professionals, the successful candidate will oversee the cultivation and solicitation of major and principal gifts and implement a plan for engaging all constituents.
In addition, the chief advancement officer will actively manage a portfolio of donors, evaluate existing philanthropic strengths, and build systems that support long-term growth and fundraising goals.
Ultimately, the CAO will ensure that single and multi-year development goals are strategically planned, thoughtfully implemented, accurately communicated, and successfully achieved in accordance with the school’s vision.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and be a collaborative and thoughtful leader who has experience implementing effective development strategies and initiatives.
The CAO should be committed to upholding the key principles of MCDS’s mission.
This is a full-time position that will be performed on campus in Miami, Florida. Salary commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
