OVERVIEW :

Reporting to the Sr. Director of People Operations, the Director of Business Partner Consulting will lead a small team of Business Partners to support a wide range of human resources programs and activities, including, but not limited to the design and execution of the people strategy and business partner consultation, performance management, employee coaching, talent management, employee relations, and compensation planning.

This role will provide strategic partnership to leaders at all levels of the organization and work closely with the Director of Employee Relations on solutions to workplace activity and concerns (i.

e. corrective action, HR policy and compliance, investigation recommendations, workforce transitions and the overall employee experience).

The Director will also maintain a portfolio of clients.

The primary responsibility is to partner with key stakeholders, internal and external to HR, to help develop and drive our people strategy and business outcomes keeping best practice and operational excellence in mind, while using data to inform our decision-making process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Business Partner Consulting

Support all people leaders and employees across the organization leading in partnership with the Director of Employee Relations, championing various organization-wide solutions (i.

e. HR service delivery, learning & organizational development, DEIB etc.)

  • Advise, coach and support executives, managers, and employees on workforce matters, while fostering a positive employee experience
  • Provide consultation in collaboration with L&OD on organizational design, career leveling, talent assessment and development, and change management solutions
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to build, develop, and deliver programs, customizing for specific business functions when necessary
  • Act as the point of escalation for the BP team to resolve complex matters and infuse consistency in business solutions

People Strategy

  • Deliver our people strategy in support of business priorities and growth strategies using best practices, including but not limited to employee engagement and retention strategies
  • Support Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives and drive alignment with HR processes / practices / solutions and workplace culture
  • Integrate business perspective on the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives to assist with developing workforce strategy
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of consistent practices related to change management and workforce transformation activities
  • Act as a key stakeholder in driving talent management activities or solutions providing insight on trends that may have workforce implications including but not limited to manager effectiveness, employee development, performance management and succession planning

Additional Responsibilities

  • Act as a key contact or driver to partner with BP team to ensure seamless delivery of HR programs and services
  • Participate as a member of the HR policy committee and applicable committees as needed on behalf of HR
  • Manage, mentor and guide a small team of HR BP’s to achieve solid and consistent business solutions
  • Participation in our Learning community is expected.
  • Perform other duties as required

The location for this role is flexible and is open to candidates in any city where Year Up operates ( ).

Salary Range : $125,000-$150,000

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated success as an HR professional inclusive of Employee Relations, HR Business Partner, or Generalist experience.

HR certification(s), or equivalent business education preferred. Previous experience working with a national workforce in non-profit, higher education or similar organizations is highly desired.

Supervisory experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrated success coordinating and delivering HR programs / processes and reporting on progress.
  • Demonstrated success when consulting with senior leaders on strategic people related matters.
  • Demonstrated success when guiding and advising people leaders and employee on HR issues.
  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with other key stakeholders.
  • Flexible, collaborative team player with exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle complex, confidential matters discreetly and professionally.
  • Solid HR business acumen including knowledge of theories, principals and best practices of HR management, and a thorough knowledge of federal and state employment laws is essential.
  • Knowledge of navigating the reasonable accommodation process.
  • Excellent judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Well organized, self-directed, and able to plan and prioritize multiple work demands.
  • Proficient with computer programs (Excel, Power Point, PeopleSoft, data base systems) are required to create and run reports, compile, and analyze data, and generate graphs, tables, and charts to present data and support recommendations.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS :

Year Up has established salary ranges for each of our sites, which allows us to pay employees competitively, equitably and consistently in different geographic markets.
