Overview
We're recruiting a pool of applicants on an ongoing basis for several adjunct faculty facilitator positions. These adjunct faculty appointments will be offered on a per semester basis and are subject to renewal.
The purpose of these positions is to teach interprofessional courses and / or activities that enroll students from multiple health professions programs.
The objective is to teach students the core competencies for interprofessional collaborative practice.
Position Responsibilities
Facilitators are part of an interprofessional instructional team delivering content and facilitating activities that have been already been developed.
Facilitators may be assigned to teach individually or with other facilitators in small or large group settings in physical classroom spaces, simulation labs, or via online / virtual modalities.
Facilitators are responsible for :
- Mastering the instructional content and delivery strategies
- Providing guidance from their own profession's perspective
- Tracking student attendance
- Assessing learners and teams according to assigned rubrics
- Providing timely feedback to students
- Collaborating with course leaders on implementation and execution
- Contributing to ongoing program evaluation processes
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Experience as a healthcare professional and / or in health professions education
- Demonstrated evidence of effective collaboration and communication
- Availability for all scheduled in-person sessions and / or virtual instruction sessions and course / activity orientation / evaluation
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as an employee at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
- Eligible for licensure in Virginia and credentialed, if applicable to the profession
- Experience teaching at the baccalaureate level or higher
- Experience with simulation instruction
