Team Intro

As the Contracts and Compliance Manager / Paralegal within the TikTok USDS Legal & Compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Legal department - ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, assisting with the execution of contracts, managing day-to-day operations, and fostering effective communication across the organization.

You will also be responsible for facilitating decision-making processes and driving efficiency and effectiveness in the Legal department's functions;

turning complex Legal department challenges into action and outcomes in a fast moving environment.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager / department.

We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

Responsibilities :

  • In this role, you will work under the general supervision of attorneys on projects touching the full lifecycle of our contracts and compliance matters.
  • This includes having general knowledge of contracts structure and the ability to identify specific provisions contained within a contract, and review NDAs and other commercial / vendor agreements using playbooks and trainings provided by our attorneys.
  • Reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and finalizing inbound and outbound contracts, including SaaS, professional services, statements of work, purchase order terms and conditions, order forms, data processing agreements, and various other commercial agreements.
  • Flagging key issues for attorney review when needed, conducting legal and benchmarking research that may be relevant to our projects, and assisting with the preparation of presentation and training materials for legal leadership and business partners.
  • Assisting with compliance program requirements and driving cross-functional execution of program deliverables with key US and global stakeholders.
  • Defining and tracking key metrics and key quality and performance indicators, and pulling data to perform analyses.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of contract and compliance management experience in-house or in a large law firm
  • BA / BS or Paralegal Certificate
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, managing projects with competing timelines
  • A background with tech or media companies and / or data security compliance is preferred. Experience with compliance audits is also preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Solid organizational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Great written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to own a process from end to end with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle a varied workload and prioritize as needed.
  • Familiarity with technology and comfortable learning new technology.
