Job Summary
The Pharmacy Vaccine Program Analyst will be responsible for the routine monitoring and oversight of vaccine procurement, inventory management, and distribution for the acute care, clinic, and retail pharmacy settings.
The Pharmacy Vaccine Program Analyst will comply with 340B and GPO requirements while optimizing vaccine logistical processes.
The Pharmacy Vaccine Program Analyst will assist with policy and standard operating procedures and supporting Pharmacy leaders with required data, projects, and reports.
Essential Functions :
Establishes and maintains a comprehensive vaccine procurement, inventory management, and distribution program to detect opportunities for operational and financial optimization while maintaining both 340B and GPO compliance.
Provides and / or implements recommendations and solutions. Implements change or perform necessary system changes as deemed necessary.
Communicates and / or trains users in affected user departments. Monitors daily maintenance and / or error reports for data accuracy and maintains records of quality control.
Performs analysis and institutes quality checks and measures for areas / applications of responsibility. (50%)
- Updates and maintains records, files, and manuals according to established procedures. Supports Pharmacy and Ambulatory Care Services with Vaccine for Children audit readiness and performance. (20%)
- Ensures completion and maintains documentation of all investigational activities and actions. Assists with development and maintenance of vaccine storage and handling, diversion prevention, detection, and reporting policies and procedures.
Provides and maintains documentation as required or requested for application related training. Ensures documentation is available for co-workers during absences.
Completes work status and time allocation documentation as required. (20%)
Informs management of situations that may occur inhibiting the activity of day-to-day duties, , computer malfunctions, incomplete reports, etc.
Communicates and intervenes appropriately with vendor or departmental personnel when required or requested to help resolve issues. (10%)
Education :
- High School Diploma or GED Required and
- Bachelor's Degree Concentration in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or healthcare-related field preferred
Work Experience :
1-3 years Experience in pharmacy, healthcare analytics, IT, finance, or a related field Required
Licenses :
PHAT-Licensed Pharmacy Technician - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Familiarity with relevant FDA, CDC, VFC, and Department of Public Health regulations related to vaccine management.
- Project management experience and ability to manage and plan multiple projects at once.
- Knowledge of improvement process or Lean Six Sigma.
- Ability to understand software and hardware requirements of varied departmental systems.
- Understands and ability to learn the workflow and process requirements of the user departments.
- Understands business function related to the application.
- Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical employees across the enterprise.
- Learn all phases of applications system support and maintenance of assigned departments.
- Experience with applicable software including wholesaler software, 340B splitting software, diversion software, Pyxis, Epic, Electronic Health Record and / or pharmacy dispensing system software.
- MS Power Point, Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio.
