Overview
Summary of Responsibilities :
Assists in the daily production of approximately 2,000 meals. Prepares, sets up and cleans serving areas in the cafeteria and Executive Dining rooms.
Prepares, delivers, sets up and retrieves catered foods to multiple locations. Interacts with guests and ensures that all items are stocked and available for service.
Often works independently and is responsible for making a large amount of quick decisions, escalating and updating management when necessary.
Responsibilities
Position Responsibilities :
Maintains Daily Refreshment Request Log and properly record all set-up, delivery, and retrieval of all foods and supplies.
Prepares, delivers and completes multiple refreshment requests and daily catered food orders to multiple building locations throughout the Western & Southern (W&S) campus.
Organizes and maintains proper inventory (including the Guilford and 303 Broadway Satellite kitchens) serving lines and Private Dining rooms.
Rotates between three private dining room positions biweekly and daily.
Assists cold production staff in the processing of produce and preparation of meals daily.
Prepares Boxed Lunches.
Portions cold food items for service in the cafeteria and dining rooms.
Plans and sets up serving lines.
Professionally sets tables in Private and Executive Dining Rooms.
Professionally takes orders and serves all dining room guests with complete confidentiality.
Coordinates and sets up serving buffet lines for caterings and ensures all dishes, utensils, supplies, foods and equipment are pulled and set correctly.
Professionally clears tables and busses dishes in the dining rooms.
Transports food and supplies as needed to various buildings within the (W&S) campus.
Checks food quality, temperature and portion size for all foods to be served, and records results in daily logs.
Serves on the cafeteria line or works other prep server positions as needed.
Works in dish room as needed.
Maintains all beverage equipment in multiple locations and satellite kitchens.
Sanitizes and maintains all refrigeration and equipment in private dining rooms and satellite kitchens.
Accurately follows all HACCP principles for safe food handling and sanitation.
Cleans supplies, washes utensils, stores dishes and equipment for work area, sweeps and mops floors as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Selection Criteria :
Typically having two to three years or experience in food service and production procedures with a minimum of two years of professional serving experience in a sit down restaurant or equivalent with ability to professionally take orders and serve in a dining room, and having the ability to maintain confidentially.
Proven ability to professionally and independently set tables, dining rooms and catered buffet lines with precision and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical functions, including fractions.
Proven ability to read and write a variety of task lists and meeting notes, and communicate them with your team and management.
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and problem solve independently and in a group.
Proven experience handling multiple duties, and completing assigned tasks accurately and timely. Must cite examples of planning, executing and maintaining assignments from start to finish.
Demonstrated experience working effectively within a team. Must provide examples of working with others under difficult situations toward a desired outcome.
Proven experience adapting and demonstrating flexibility associated with changes to policies, procedures and processes.
Must provide examples of effectively handling customer needs and providing excellent service.
Must provide examples that demonstrate dependability and dedication to work processes.
Work Setting :
Ability to stand continuously, walk, reach, bend, push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
unassisted and up to 50 lbs. assisted.
Ability to walk and push / pull loaded carts to various buildings throughout the (W&S) campus.
Ability to make substantial repetitive movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, fingers, arms, shoulders, hips and waist.
Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, odors, temperature extremes, and potentially hazardous tools and equipment.
Educational Requirements :
High school diploma or GED.
Computer Skills and Knowledge of Hardware & Software Required :
Proven ability to use email and Internet browser.
Certifications & Licenses (., Series 6 & 63, CPA, :
Safe Serve Certified within six months of date of hire.
Complete formal server training within six months of hire.
