Position Description :
The Events Coordinator plays a vital role in the execution of Guitar Center in-store events aimed at enhancing omnichannel traffic, customer acquisition, awareness, and vendor participation.
Events are educational, inspirational, and participatory by nature. This position involves working closely with cross-functional internal and external teams and on-site staff to help Guitar Center’s events come to life and align with strategy for driving engagement with and affinity for the brand.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Onsite event support and execution of all Guitar Center events
- Assist in driving major retail and market event strategy, planning, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Creation of event briefs, decks, documentation, and recaps for each event
- Contribute to the execution of disruptive brand and in-store events, large-scale opportunities with music lifestyle brands, media partnerships, music festivals, annual store grand openings, category-specific events, and vendor activations.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of the national event calendar, including proposing events
- Assist in demonstrating the ROI of event investments through tracking and reporting measurable terms such as sales, margin, store and web traffic, and impressions.
- Support the development of local event strategy, criteria for local store event investments, and activation tool kit
- Collaborate with Content & Social stakeholders for strategic coverage and promotion of events.
- Assist in partnering with the Artist team and relevant MI vendors on event logistics and execution.
- Actively communicate and project manage all aspects of events, including written plans, calendars, timelines, deliverables, budget planning, and tracking.
- Onboarding new vendors and submitting event vendor invoices, paying out vendors, etc.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned related to the planning, promotion, and execution of the events
Requirements
To join our band, you'll need the following experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) is required, preferably in Marketing or Hospitality
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Marketing and Project Management
- Previous experience in the music industry within Artist and Event management preferred
- Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Works effectively on high volume projects under pressure with simultaneous competing deadlines
- Interpersonal and cross-functional communication on high-profile, complex projects with artists
- Shows strong organization, time management, and project management skills
- Discretion working with and in collaboration with artists and artist teams
- Willingness to travel domestically 1-5 times a month for event execution support weekend and weeknight availability on event days

Pay Rate : $50,000-$60,000 / yr depending on background and experience.
