Job Title : Staff Systems Engineer

Location : This position is based in our Campbell, California offices.

What You’ll Do :

We are seeking a highly motivated Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in defining and developing innovative solutions to address the complex clinical challenges in stroke care.

In this role, you will translate clinical and business needs into engineering requirements, lead system-level design and integration, and ensure the system is safe, reliable, and complaint with regulatory standards, through comprehensive testing and system verification.

Requirements Definition : Define and document system-level engineering requirements based on clinical and business needs.

Design and conduct experiments to derive requirements and generate data to support your rationale.

System Design and Integration : Guide cross-functional teams through trade-off discussions to find optimal system-level solutions.

Contribute to system design, support technical decision-making processes, and drive system-level deliverables. Ensure seamless integration of subsystems across engineering teams.

  • System Testing : Develop and execute test protocols, including designing test fixtures and generating scripts to collect data, to thoroughly characterize system performance and ensure the system meets functional, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Analysis : Analyse system data to derive system insights, and apply those insights to drive design improvements
  • System analysis : Conduct system analyses such as hazards and harms assessments, generating system level test plans
  • Lab support : Support the planning and execution of pre-clinical and clinical labs to evaluate system functionality and gather user feedback.

What You’ll Bring :

  • BS / MS in Engineering, Physics, or related field
  • 8+ years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas : mechanical design, electrical design, robotics and controls, or software / firmware development
  • Proficiency in Python for data acquisition and data analysis
  • Curiosity for and ability to dive deep into any technical topic
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Experience carrying a design through a full cycle of verification and validation through FDA approval is a plus

Salary Range : $179,000 - 191,000 annually
