About The Position
Job Title : Diagnostic Radiology Technologist Job Specialty : Radiologic Technologist Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Monday-Friday, 3-11 PM, no weekends Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Medical Imaging License Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board of Examiners Prior to start date Certifications : - Radiographer American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Within 6 months of start- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (AHA) Within 90 days of start date Must-Have : Temporary medical license accepted prior to start Job Description : Educate patients on radiology procedures and ensure they feel comfortable and safe.
- Perform all radiographic procedures and monitor patient safety and comfort.- Demonstrate understanding of Computer Radiology (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) principles.
- Select proper technical factors and operate equipment to produce quality radiographs, utilizing all radiation safety devices.
- Review images for quality and completeness according to standard operating procedures.- Prepare and administer IV and oral contrast under the direction of a Radiologist / Radiologist Assistant.
- Provide individualized patient care and comfort essential to the procedure.- Provide appropriate education to the patient and family to optimize their understanding within the scope of responsibility.
- Ensure prior images are available and complete all electronic medical record processes.- Perform pain assessments and take appropriate action according to standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department / organization. Please note : Holiday coverage is required, and familiarity with the EPIC electronic medical record system is necessary for this position.
