Additional Information About the Role Barnes-Jewish Hospital Plaza Tower Integrated Spine Unit (17400) - 17th Floor Join our Nurse Practitioner team at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and be at the forefront of Spinal care for Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Spine patients.
Our NPs care for a variety of Orthopedic and Neurosurgery Surgery patients within our Integrated Spine Unit. Weekend Option Position 3 (12hr) shifts per week Day shift position Every Saturday and Sunday Requirement + 1 additional day shift during the week Great medical benefits 401(k) and Pension Plan Overview Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families across practice settings.
They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within the inpatient setting.
The role demonstrates advanced clinical knowledge, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice.
They work with staff, nurses, physicians, and medical / surgical trainees to assure safe, effective, quality patient care.
The position requires coverage of evenings, nights, weekends, and / or holidays. Minimum Board Certification(s) : BJH : Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)SLCH : Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care (CPNP-PC), Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP-AC), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Preferred Board Certification(s) : BJH : Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) BJH Women’s Assessment Center : Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) SLCH : Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Acute Care (CPNP-AC) Responsibilities Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care.
Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting.
Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical / surgical trainees, and other health professionals.
Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative / performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.

Minimum Requirements Education Master's Degree - Nursing Experience
