Director of Football Recruiting Content
Job Description
Reporting to the Football Chief of Staff the Director of Football Recruiting Content manages and collaborates with recruiting and marketing individuals and supervises the day-to-day operations of all video elements for Oklahoma Football.
This includes marketing content initiatives, both internal and external, across multiple formats to inspire the nation's best and brightest to attend OU while driving sales, engagement, fan, recruitment, and retention.
This position is accountable for the direction, administration, and coordination of a production team responsible for a variety of recruiting and student-athlete related content.
The Director of Football Recruiting Content exercises independent, professional judgment beyond proscribed routine policies and procedures to carry out the athletic department and football program's mission statement to recruit and retain student-athletes for the University of Oklahoma.
The independent decisions made by the Director commit the program to a specific course of action and carry fiduciary responsibility and accountability for the management of the video team.
This position is part of a recruiting team that determines the success of both the football program's on-field success and the student-athlete's success as an individual.
This position is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program, including adherence to all department policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, Conference, and NCAA.
Essential Functions :
- Lead and mentor a team of mid-level content editors and students charged with producing and deploying content tied to audience development and engagement goals
- Supervises staff with duties including but not limited to hiring, training, and evaluating performance
- Creates, organizes, and maintains the digital media production management for OU football recruiting
- Oversee creation of all content internally or externally to reflect OU Football brand position and assist with athletics department strategic plan
- Creates motion graphics and video animation for athletic multimedia platforms
- Produce forward thinking content to introduce and grow the current OU target audience outside of our general reach
- Conduct studies and interpret analytics of current social platforms and implement initiatives and increase positive online results
- Direct production team with development of larger initiatives for recruiting and market rollout
- Educate football staff on best and most effective social practices
- Contribute to the creation of the content strategy, and then oversee the implementation of that strategy by utilizing motivation tactics and team deadlines
- Manage the creative team & project management calendar, make key asset decisions, budget, and assist in financial management of projects
- Collaborates cross-departmentally with football recruiting and other OU athletics content creators
- Performs high level day-to-day technical and logistical problem solving
- Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position
Job Requirements
- Required Education : Bachelor's Degree AND ;
- 24 months of experience in creative media, sports production or related field.
Equivalency / Substitution : Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience

- An expert in content and channel optimization, brand consistency, localization, and analytics
Advertised Physical Requirements :
- Be able to sit and look at a computer for prolonged periods and engage in repetitive motion
- Must be able to lift heavy objects over 50 pounds (video equipment is constantly moved)
- Frequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods
- Requires work during non-business hours
Certifications :
Valid Oklahoma Driver's License in order to drive University vehicles or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire date.
Department Preferences
- 4+ years' experience designing in a brand or agency environment (preferably in athletics)
- Proficiencies across all video-editing platforms
- A diverse portfolio reflecting sophistication in concept development, production, strategy, and general artistry
- Experience developing recruiting campaigns and working across mediums
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours
- Experience managing teams & project management calendars
- 4+ years' experience designing in college athletics
- Interested applicants must have a strong understanding of the Oklahoma Football brand, and an ability to inspire others to build on the storied tradition of creative excellence at OU
