Surgical Tech - Surgery

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Surgical Tech to join our surgical team at St. John's Regional Medical Center. As a Surgical Tech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other team members.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery.
- Collaborate with the nursing and anesthesia teams to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Perform surgical counts and assist with the safe disposal of biohazardous materials.
- Assist with the positioning and draping of patients.
- Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of surgical equipment.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Surgical Tech I staff members.

Qualifications
- A minimum of two (2) years recent hospital experience in the capacity of a Surgical Technologist in all surgical specialties.
- Demonstrates advanced skills appropriate to the role of the Surgical Technologist.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist
- American Heart Associate CPR required
