This part-time teaching position could include hours within our Fine Arts Preschool Program and our Tanner Dance Studio Program.
The Fine Art Preschool 2Day Program is held on Tuesdays 8 : 30 am-1 : 45 pm, and Thursdays 8 : 30 am-12 : 30 pm, and the Tanner Dance Studio Program are hours as available.
Experience in teaching creative dance to 3-6 yr olds is required.

Candidate must demonstrate the ability to care, nurture, and enjoy preschool aged children. Additional Tanner Dance philosophy and Fine Arts Preschool program training will be provided to augment the expertise that the candidate is already bringing to the position.
A background check will be a requirement of the University of Utah before working with minors.
Department Specific Qualifications
- Degree seeking, or degree holding candidate in Dance, Music, or Early Childhood Development is preferred
- Knowledge and experience in early childhood development
- Experience in dance, and teaching creative dance to preschool age children
- Must have patience, be kind, compassionate, caring, nurturing, and enjoy working with children ages 3-6 years old
- Must be able to teach age appropriate lessons and move during a dance class
- Must pass a background check
- Demonstrate skills in creating engaging classroom lesson plans- preparation, execution, and adaptation to meet the evolving needs of the classroom
Responsibilities
- Come prepared each day with creative dance lesson plans suitable for preschool students 3.5-6 yrs old.
- Come prepared each week with lessons that will include other art related curriculum in literature, creative writing, and drama.
- Collaborate with preschool staff in planning and executing school events and daily logistics, and be a part of the teaching team.
- Assist with daily preschool logistics in setting up / cleaning up supplies, snack, activities, class materials, etc.
- Attend weekly faculty meetings on Tuesdays.
- Attend and conduct parent teacher conferences 2x’s during the school year.
- Have good communication skills.
This position may require the successful completion of a criminal background check and / or drug screen.
