Position Summary

Concordia University seeks applications for the full-time, staff, exempt position of Undergraduate Clinical Placement and Compliance Coordinator (CPCC) for the School of Nursing on the Ann Arbor, MI campus.

This position assists the Chair of Nursing in finding and retaining quality clinical education sites, coordinates students' clinical placements, arranges preceptors, and is responsible for securing, assigning, orienting, and mentoring adjunct clinical faculty who oversee the students in clinical.

The position requires extensive cooperation and collaborative relationships with professionals in the clinical agencies, CUAA nursing team members, and the chair.

The CPCC tracks and communicates clinical health requirement status of all students, faculty, and adjunct instructors to ensure compliance with site requirements.

The CPCC will assist the Academic Nursing Advisor to provide nursing academic advising for undergraduate nursing students.

This full time position will start December 2, 2024.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities to the University

  • Attends all team meetings
  • Presents matters of concern to the Chair
  • Leads recruitment of clinical adjunct faculty by
  • Identifying future personnel needs
  • Interviewing prospective faculty adjuncts and preceptors
  • Contacting references and licensure of qualified applicants
  • Making recommendations for hiring to the Chair
  • All other duties as assigned

Responsibilities to the Nursing Program

  • In collaboration with the Chair, establishes, revises and implements clinical faculty-related hiring and orientation processes and policies
  • Communicates clinical site and clinical instructor needs with the Chair
  • In collaboration with the clinical course coordinators and Chair, determines clinical and preceptorship needs for next academic year course offerings
  • In collaboration with the clinical contract coordinator, communicates the specific requirements needed to initiate and maintain contractual agreements with affiliating agencies
  • Provides information to the Chair and administrative assistant to issue clinical adjunct faculty contracts
  • Communicates with clinical agency personnel each semester to monitor and evaluate clinical site
  • Orients, mentors, and debriefs with all clinical adjunct faculty in conjunction with the clinical coordinators
  • Assigns appropriate clinical faculty to clinical agency sites
  • Organizes and maintains clinical course and compliance student files
  • Manages, tracks and communicates clinical health requirement status of all students, faculty, and adjunct instructors to ensure compliance with site requirements using CastleBranch and ACEMAPP
  • Communicates with Chair to verify that clinical requirements are met for all clinical students
  • In collaboration with the Chair, facilitates management of the clinical schedule, and communication and documentation of student clinical placements to students and clinical sites
  • Serves as liaison between the Undergraduate Program and clinical agencies to establish and maintain the student clinical placement process, including all reports and / or documents required by the agency
  • Facilitates clinical instructors and students in completing site-specific clinical requirements
  • In collaboration with the Chair and clinical course coordinators, establishes, revises and implements student clinical practicum-related policies for inclusion in the Student Clinical Resource Guide
  • Completes course / section scheduling and provides information to the Nursing Advisor

Professional Activity

  • Represents the University and nursing program at conferences, meetings, conventions and in the community
  • Maintains current knowledge of clinical practice, clinical education and mentoring. Maintains knowledge of current teaching methods
  • Maintains current knowledge of clinical practice and policies with clinical sites

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Excellent organizational abilities, professional written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Access and Word with other software as appropriate
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin / Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)

Education & Experience

  • Current licensure and registration to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in nursing is required
  • Minimum two years of nursing experience
  • Previous clinical teaching experience preferred

This is a full-time, exempt (salary) staff position. The starting wage is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.
