Quality Control Inspector
Full- Time, temp to hire
6am-2 : 30pm
$19-$21 / hour DOE
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for evaluating and dispositioning materials for use in manufacturing as well as interfacing with assembly operations regarding part quality and workmanship issues.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities : (include, but not limited to) :
Incoming Inspection
o Review supplied documentation (labeling, Certificates of Compliance, etc.) for
accuracy and files appropriately.
o Inspect material using calibrated equipment, drawings and specifications
mechanical, electrical, cosmetic), and / or controlled comparison samples.
o Verify the authenticity of critically controlled components.
o Work with engineering to obtain necessary inspection documentation when
needed.
o Create and / or maintain accurate incoming inspection records and transactions in
ERP (Intuitive and Unipoint)
Nonconforming Material Control
o Work with Manufacturing and Engineering to inspect suspected nonconforming
material in process.
o Segregate nonconforming materials and performs required inventory control
system transactions.
o Work with team to accurately document nonconforming material details and
execution of Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions.
Educational and Skill Requirements
- Two years' experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to develop and maintain organized inspection methods and record keeping.
- Ability to distinguish colors and properly use inspection tools including calipers,
micrometers, pin gauges, and optical inspection equipment with an exceptional attention
to detail.
Ability to read and understand drawings including geometric dimensioning and
tolerancing (GD&T).
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills and is able to communicate and work
effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Role requires detailed
written and verbal communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint).
- Experience working in an ERP environment (Intuitive, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Training in and experience with Lean manufacturing principles is desired.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment.
- May be required to work over-time and weekends when needed.
- Attendance is a critical function of this position.
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 75 lbs. periodically.
- Stand or sit for long periods.
- Perform tasks (that may be repetitive) that require reaching, pushing, pulling, kneeling,
walking, stooping and / or bending.
Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
