Senior Program Manager, North America Surface Transportation Sustainability

Amazon Transportation Services (ATS) Fleet team is looking for an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative Senior Program Manager to execute on Amazon Transportation Service’s carbon reduction goals.

An ideal candidate will : 1) serve as the overall liaison between sustainability team and business teams within Middle Mile, 2) drive the overarching sustainability strategy for their business unit, and 3) track carbon abatement and carbon intensity on a monthly basis.

You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done.

You will be able to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, and then deliver them in a successful and timely manner.

Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities

This role is inherently cross-functional you will work closely with WW Sustainability, WW Ops Sustainability, Core Operations, Legal, Finance, Network planning, and executive teams to bring programs to the market.

This job will require exceptional communication skills and having the ability to work independently in a high pressure environment with all levels of leadership, and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist.

The successful candidate will be proficient at solving transportation challenges and possess a bias to get things done and deliver results.

Other responsibilities include :

  • Develop core program management documentation, including user scenarios and detailed business requirements
  • Address barriers through problem solving and coordination with stakeholders
  • Directly influence the definition and management of the strategic roadmaps for the network

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience communicating with VP-level decision makers; experience communicating expectations and requirements with business and technology teams through written proposals
  • Ability to work in ambiguous environments and overcome challenges with a high degree of flexibility and professionalism

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Master's Degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Logistics, or similar field from an accredited university
  • Experience in carbon emissions / intensity tracking at scale.
  • Detail oriented with strong prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently and excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, maintain a strong attention to detail and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design workable solutions and drive projects to successful implementation
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different functional groups, developers, business owners, and senior business leaders.
