Position Overview :
The RN Director of ICU and Critical Care provides strategic leadership and operational support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), overseeing all nursing and designated patient care services within the hospital.
This role is responsible for the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practices across multiple units.
The Director ensures 24 / 7 management and accountability for high-quality, safe patient care, clinical staff competency, and optimal resource utilization within assigned areas.
Key Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with the CNO to maintain and enhance the quality of patient care services.
- Oversee the daily operations of critical care units, ensuring adherence to clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop nursing teams, fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.
- Ensure effective resource management, including staffing, budget oversight, and equipment allocation.
- Promote and uphold a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on patient outcomes, safety, and operational efficiency. Qualifications :

- Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field or a BSN required.
- MSN or a Master's degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital setting as a Manager or Charge Nurse.
- At least 2 years of Critical Care experience required.
- Licensure / Certifications :
- Active and current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of residence / practice.
- CPR certification required.
- Skills / Abilities :
- Strong leadership and hospital operations expertise.
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the nursing profession.
