About the Job Opportunity
The Events Manager is a crucial member of the Events and Production team, responsible for overseeing the logistical execution of CAC events, which includes our conferences, virtual gatherings, and retreats.
This role requires collaboration with a variety of teams to ensure that each event reflects CAC’s mission and values. The Events Manager will oversee the implementation of our event strategy through the end-to-end project management and planning of our events.

What You’ll Do
- Lead event logistics : Oversee the execution of events, coordinating schedules across departments to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Develop schedules and structures : Create detailed event schedules and work breakdown structures (WBS) and facilitate cross-team meetings to clarify responsibilities.
- Collaborate across teams : Partner with the Program Design, Creative, and Engagement teams to align event content, marketing, and creative elements with CAC’s vision.
- Oversee AV production : Manage audio-visual production and technical infrastructure to ensure high-quality event experiences.
- Negotiate and manage venues : Secure conference venues, manage contracts, event layouts, and catering to ensure a seamless experience.
- Coordinate communications : Oversee all communications with participants, including marketing and external messaging, before, during, and after events.
- Budget management : Prepare and monitor event budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Vendor and supplier relations : Maintain strong relationships with vendors, securing necessary support for event production.
- Lead training for staff and volunteers : Train and support staff and volunteers involved in event execution.
- Post-event evaluation : Conduct evaluations with stakeholders to assess event success and gather insights for future events.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- 2+ years of experience in project and program management.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with project management processes and tools / software (Asana preferred).
- Ability to develop and present educational programs and workshops, lead practices, and support CAC programming as needed.
Work Requirements
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Use of computer, keyboard and monitor is necessary.
- Must be able to lift and carry approximately 15 pounds.
- Must be able to speak English and hear spoken words.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time, exempt position. While our preference is for candidates based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, or those willing to relocate, we are open to considering remote candidates located within the United States if they are the right fit.
We are pleased to offer a salary range of $65,600 - $82,000 (based on experience) for this position. Salaries are established based on a grade system designed to ensure competitiveness with industry standards as well as pay equity.
Final salary will be determined based on the specific qualifications of the candidate in relation to the salary grade and predetermined criteria.
