Responsibilities Clinical Discharge Summary Specialist Contract Position The Clinical Discharge Summary Specialist has duties and responsibilities that include, but are not limited to : Abstract and summarize pertinent patient information from medical records to create physician discharge summaries.

Prepare disctated reports for physician review and authentication. Track summary completion to validate all summaries are dictated timely.

Previous discharge summary dictation experience preferred. License and / or Registration : Valid RN License or other recognized medical credentials.
Skills Required : Familiarity with medical record content and thorough knowledge of Mental Health and Developmental Disability state and federal regulations and documentation guidelines.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills (speak articulately and effectively). Ability to abstract and decipher information from medical records.
Ability to work independently and diligently with detail-orientation and meet facility deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to handle repetative tasks. Ability to work as a team player and maintain professional relationships with staff and patients in a customer-service friendly environment.
Must demonstrate tact, patience and dedication and must possess good judgment and maintain confidentiality of information.
