- Will come on board in a Development Status Role and work side by side with the Production Manager in our Foundry operation to learn and take over his role upon his upcoming retirement.
- You will work with Production and Process Managers in planning, organizing and directing the manufacturing operations with optimum cost-effectiveness,
- Has a broad background and a keen understanding of the manufacturing process.

Duties :
- Schedule, coordinate and supervise operations in different functional areas to meet production requirements and objectives.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with the Maintenance Manager and other maintenance personnel.
- Plan and schedule manpower requirements to meet labor objectives.
- Select, develop and motivate a competent team to assure a safe, efficient, cost-effective production operation.
- Responsible for compliance to Griffin quality standards and productivity / WIP objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring safe workplace conditions within established safety policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining operations within cost and budget restrictions and ensuring continuous improvements.
- Maintain safety and good housekeeping standards.
- Coordinate with HR as needed.
- Communicate through various means with management and hourly personnel.
- Handle employee issues (either formal or informal) to promote good employee relations and equitable solutions for the Company.
This includes personnel problems, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline.
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Operations Leadership experience leading multiple departments / shifts
- Must be able to demonstrate a past history of developing and implementing operations metrics to drive results
- Experience with budget management / development
- Experience in metal foundry, casting steel plant, and / or machining operations preferred.
- Can demonstrate a track record of cost-saving, inventory turns improvement, and implementation of planning approaches (JIT, Kanban, and Lean Manufacturing)
- Experience with manufacturing operations, quality systems, safety systems, maintenance, and project management.
- Possess strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Experience in foundry or heavy manufacturing is a big plus
- Professional training / certifications are a plus. i.e.Green Belt, Black Belt, or Lean
- Advanced education is a plus
