Position Summary

Black Diamond Advanced Technology (BDATech) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be required to create and read mechanical drawings to include technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

They will also be responsible for the development, monitoring, and the continual improvement of manufacturing process and methods in support of product lines the development, monitoring, and the continual improvement of manufacturing process and methods in support of product lines.

  • BS in Manufacturing engineering or related field. Years of experience in the engineering field may be considered.
  • Ability to create, modify existing work instructions to improve productivity and quality of the production process and products.
  • Ability to document and build BDATech products through work instructions, ensuring they meet customer and BDATech requirements.
  • Production support responsibilities / knowledge to include :
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision drawings, and models
  • Design of processes for packaging electronics
  • Design and assemble injection molding tools / vacuum fixtures / production assembly fixtures
  • Design of mechanical apparatuses and equipment to support production testing
  • Modifications to eliminate defects and / or failures to existing products
  • Ability to use hand tools to demonstrate and document assembly steps
  • Ability to assemble initial prototypes of products
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties, diagnosing faulty operations and make repair recommendations to technicians
  • Finish tasks promptly in an allotted amount of time
  • Communicate and work with production technicians on problem solving and documentation to improve productivity and quality.
  • Minimal oversight required for completion of tasks; able to problem solve and address issues without re-direction
  • Able to work multiple tasks simultaneously, accommodate shifting priorities and manage time accordingly

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the core work hours of 9 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m.
  • BDATech production observes a 4 / 10 schedule, with Friday reserved in case of the need to meet customer deliveries
  • This position is 100% NON- Remote position

Travel

This position has a possibility of traveling up to 10%.

Required Education and Experience

  • BS in manufacturing engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 2-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience in an ISO9000 / AS9100 environment
  • Proficient in design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision drawings, and models
  • Experience in participation of design and peer reviews / meetings
  • Experience design and build production fixtures for improved quality and productivity
  • Experience in 3D printing / Resin Printing
  • Experience in assembly & documentation of production and engineering builds
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Proficient in Pro-Engineer modeling and other computer-assisted software Wildfire, Creo
  • Team Player, and the ability to work well with other disciplines as required
  • Oral and written communication skills

Work Authorization / Security Clearance

Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Secret Clearance
