The On-Site Lead Technician will perform functions to safely supervise, repair, direct and coordinate performance of the employees involved with the service and repair of transportation, hydraulic and other solid waste collection and / or processing equipment.

Key Responsibilities :
- Providing direct supervision of all drivers, ensuring ongoing training requirements, discipline and procedural implementation.
- Working alongside the Operations Manager and the HR Manager to maintain adequate staffing levels, including participating in interviews and pre-employment Road Tests.
- Conducting ongoing observational behaviour assessments / driver training to uncover any performance issues, and creating an action plan to correct.
- Tracking ongoing service / driver issues and documenting any discipline required.
- Attaining all of the necessary information regarding any issues by maintaining courteous, prompt and efficient customer relations.
- Organizing and approving driver vacation requests.
- Ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for all workers, and reporting any related issues immediately to the Operations Manager.
- Ensuring company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all drivers as needed.
- Performing Accident Investigations when company vehicles are involved in traffic accidents.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies :
- Valid Commercial Drivers License.
- Valid TWIC Card.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Preference will be given to those candidates with experience working with Residential or Commercial collection, civil construction, transportation and / or Operations.
- General understanding of, WHMIS and the Highway Traffic Act.
- Proficiency with performing pre and post trip inspections, as well as accident investigations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capability to plan, prioritize and execute against tight timelines.
- Intermediate database, spreadsheet, and word processing skills within a Microsoft environment.
- Willing to work flexible hours.
