At Cox Communications, we’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist, a core member of our Consumer Analytics team supporting marketing analytics.

The ideal candidate will help unlock the full power of our data by building and enhancing our statistical and machine learning modeling capabilities to influence various parts of the customer lifecycle including lead management, customer acquisition, retention, upsell, and engagement.

What You’ll Do

As Senior Data Scientist, you’ll stay busy doing some pretty amazing things. Your key responsibility will be to lead efforts related to developing machine learning models, statistical model building, and optimization.

But you’ll get to do much more than that, such as :

Develop advanced analytical models and solutions via transformation, statistical analysis, data exploration, visualization, and optimization to solve complex business challenges.

Use foundational data science methodologies to identify relationships / drivers of key metrics as it relates to marketing objectives

Support the team in mapping out customer journeys and developing activation opportunities from our lead management data sources

Gain a deep understanding of our data, including data sources, architecture, and systems

Work cross functionally to define problem statement, create long term vision and build / apply machine learning models when appropriate

Manage vendor and cross-functional relationships, as well as organize and extract value from external data assets

Work with the team to help develop and automate models

Apply advanced visualization methods to provide key insights from models and share those with our leadership team

Influence others through expertise and insights

Keep on top of the latest trends in the industry to research and apply new analytical methods

Who You Are

Minimum

You’ve got a lot on the ball (but you knew that). Here are some of the skills and experiences we’re looking for from you :

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 4 years of related experience in a related field (Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Marketing or closely related field).

The right candidate could also have a different combination , such as master’s degree and 2 years of related experience ;

a Ph.D. and 1 year of experience; or 16 years of experience in a related field.

Strong knowledge and understanding of analytic processes, predictive modeling, customer lifetime value, and tools that drive solution development at scale.

Proficiency in programming in Python / R and SQL.

Experience developing on cloud platforms

Taking an entrepreneurial, self-directed approach and tackling ambiguous business problems in a fast-paced iterative environment.

Work with diverse business teams is second nature for your collaborative, people-driven personality.

Becoming a rock-solid communicator, and can comprehend and discuss analytics, business insights and implications with the best of them.

While the rest of these aren’t a must, it would be great if you could check a few of the following boxes as well :

Preferred

Experience with AWS, SageMaker, Snowflake, cloud computing, and building analytics applications using AI / ML at scale

Telecommunications, cable industry, high tech, or consulting experience

Compensation :

Compensation includes a base salary of $96,100.00 - $160,100.00. The salary rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's experience.

Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
