Job Description
Position Summary
The Medical Director oversees the accuracy and relevance of scientific content created for pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and device industry clients, and plays a central role in developing marketing strategies and tactics for healthcare professionals and patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews and manages the accuracy and quality of scientific content produced within a healthcare marketing agency
- Works closely with internal account, creative, strategy, and regulatory teams to execute various deliverables across rheumatology and immunology accounts
- Collaborates with creative teams on the development of disease education and branded materials to ensure content is strategically aligned and supportable
- Maintains thorough knowledge of key competitors (strengths, weaknesses, positioning, performance) and the medical literature related to client’s brands
- Stays up to date on the latest published research, treatment guidelines, and reference support for key claims
- Participates in client meetings and medical / regulatory / legal reviews
- Educates internal team and clients on disease states and products
- Onboards team members on the medical team’s responsibilities and process
- Supports the medical team on new business pitches and strategic asks

Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MD, PharmD, DO, or MS) in health or science field
- Healthcare agency (preferred), pharmaceutical (biotech or device) industry, or science communications experience
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret scientific and medical data
- Familiarity with US pharmaceutical marketing principles, regulations, and practices
- Capable of working both independently and in a team environment
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
