Job Description
- Strategic Planning and Market Research :
- Market Analysis : Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and industry trends. Analyze competitor strategies and market conditions.
- Strategic Planning : Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company's goals. Create long-term plans to achieve growth and market penetration.
- Target Market Identification : Identify and target potential clients in various sectors, such as commercial, industrial, healthcare, municipal, education, and retail construction.
- Client Relationship Management :
- Client Acquisition : Identify and establish relationships with potential clients. Lead efforts to secure new contracts and projects.
- Client Retention : Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing clients. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and address any concerns promptly.
- Networking : Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking events to promote the company and build relationships with potential clients and partners.
- Proposal and Bid Management :
- RFP / RFQ Response : Lead the development of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs).
Coordinate with the estimating and project management teams to prepare competitive and compelling bids.
- Proposal Development : Oversee the creation of proposal documents, ensuring they are accurate, professionally presented, and aligned with client requirements.
- Marketing and Branding :
- Marketing Strategy : Collaborate with the marketing team to develop marketing campaigns and materials that effectively communicate the company's capabilities and achievements.
- Brand Development : Ensure consistent branding and messaging across all marketing and business development efforts. Enhance the company's market presence and reputation.
- Sales and Revenue Growth :
- Sales Goals : Set and achieve sales targets in alignment with the company's financial objectives. Track progress and adjust strategies as needed.
- Pipeline Management : Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline. Monitor and report on the status of leads, prospects, and deals.
- Collaboration and Team Leadership :
- Cross-Functional Coordination : Work closely with project management, estimating, and operations teams to ensure alignment on project pursuits and client expectations.

The Successful Applicant
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in business development, preferably within the construction or general contracting industry.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
