Description

SAIC is seeking a talented SPY Radar Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bedford, IN . We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with expertise in SPY-1 and SPY-6 radar systems to join our engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radar technology, signal processing, and systems integration, contributing to the development, testing, and maintenance of advanced naval radar systems.

This position is contingent upon contract award expected early 2025.

This position is full time and can be worked remotely or on site in Bedford, IN. Position will require travel t o varying locations including Crane, IN periodically to meet with customer.

Preference will be shown to those willing to relocate. Relocation assistance will be considered on a case by case basis.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, develop, and implement enhancements to SPY-1 and SPY-6 radar systems

  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help comprehend the interworkings and technical make-ups of the respective system
  • Provide technical support and training to personnel on radar operation and maintenance
  • Analyze system performance data and recommend improvements
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in radar technology and military applications

Qualifications

Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with SPY-1 and / or SPY-6 radar systems
  • Strong knowledge of radar theory, signal processing, and electromagnetic principles
  • Experience with software development for radar systems (e.g., MATLAB, C / C++)
  • Familiarity with military specifications and standards related to radar systems
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with system-level design and integration
  • Knowledge of naval operations and defense industry practices
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Clearance Requirement :

Must be able to ontain a Secret clearance

Target salary range : $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
