Essential Duties / Responsibilities
- Manage pre-scheduling, tie-outs and NERC e-tagging for WECC physical power transactions
- Assist with CAISO Congestion Revenue Right (CRR) allocation and auction processes
- Develop comprehensive models to analyze commodity markets, price new business opportunities and advise customers
- Identify opportunities for new business with wholesale counterparties including Community Choice Aggregations (CCAs), utilities as well as other wholesale energy companies
- Manage and validate short-term CCA forecasts and position reports
- Assist Regulatory and Compliance Teams as required to ensure a prompt and comprehensive response to regulatory developments as well as timely compliance to existing regulations
- Provide research as needed to identify possible strategic business opportunities
Working Conditions :

- Evening and weekend work may be required based on business needs
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields from an accredited college, university or service academy AND 3+ years of military experience
- An understanding of physical and financial power markets
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adhere to deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong spreadsheet, programming, and presentation skills
- Must be a creative thinker with strong investigative and analytical skills
- Statistical proficiency
- Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications :
Proficient coder of SQL, and an object-oriented programming language (Ruby, Python, VBA)
Advanced quantitative degree preferably in Mathematics, Engineering, or related fields from an accredited college or university
