How you will make an impact : Cedar Hills Hospital currently has an opening for a Nurse Educator / Infection Control Practitioner in our dynamic mental health facility, The Nurse Educator / Infection Control Practitioner is responsible for all staff education, training and competency records, coordinating the activities of the Infection Control Program, assuming direct responsibility for infection surveillance and reporting,within Cedar Hills Hospital.
This person oversees and conducts the training of the required programs for clinical education of the Nursing Department that supports current established evidence-based nursing practice.
This position ensure the objectives of the hospital are met, incorporates any performance improvement goals of the hospital, and complies with regulatory requirements established by the CNO which reflect current regulatory requirements.

Qualifications Education : Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing, or equivalent combination of education and experience in psychiatric nursing management;
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s preferred. Experience : A minimum of one year’s supervisory experience. At least two years’ experience working with psychiatrically / behaviorally disordered persons.
Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric health-care facility preferred. Experience in developing educational programs for clinical staff is preferred.
Licensure : Currently licensed to practice by the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Training : Thorough knowledge of the Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA requirements, and state and federal regulatory requirements preferred.
CPR certification and successful completion of training in Management of Assaultive Behavior (HWC) within 90 days of employment.
Demonstrated skill modeling verbal de-escalation strategies with behaviorally disordered persons. Prior experience in responding to behavioral emergencies preferred.
Additional Requirements : Must possess demonstrated leadership ability, the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups and individuals, strong oral and written communication skills.
Must possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, behavior management, crisis intervention, and adult learning strategies.
