JOB SUMMARY :
The ModCenter Machine Operator works with computer numeric controlled (CNC) heavy machinery from setup to operation to produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials.
CNC equipment is precision machinery that cuts, grinds or drills into the material. A great ModCenter Machine Operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards and has a willingness to learn and improve.
The goal of the ModCenter Machine Operator is to ensure that production procedures are carried out smoothly to maximize efficiency and profitability.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, electrical drawings, etc.
- Wire enclosures according to blueprints, electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function utilizing CAD software.
- Operate machinery safely and accurately to perform a variety of functions.
- Make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product.
- Confirm ModCenter is running efficiently by verifying that work area is stocked with machining tools (end mills, drills, etc.
well-maintained and perform periodic checks on output.
- Inspect the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Communicate logistics issues that arise in the process of creating a part to the ModCenter Team Lead.
- Follows all Company and OSHA safety standards including but not limited to proper securing of ModCenter while in operation, wearing the appropriate PPE for the job performed, immediately reporting malfunctions that could cause injury to an employee.

- The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Lift 30lbs. frequently, and 70lbs. occasionally
- Maneuver varying size enclosures, with the assistance of an overhead hoist, in excess of 100 lbs
- Stand for long periods of time, bending, twisting, kneeling, climbing ladders
- Perform all required tasks in a safe manner
- Occasional sitting
WORK SCHEDULE :
This position is a full-time schedule working 40 hours per week with overtime as needed. The general schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6 : 30 am 5 : 00 pm EST.
Working hours and / or scheduled working days may vary as needed to meet business requirements.

Requirements :
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES :
- Ability to read and understand written specifications, as well as blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring schematics, electrical drawings, etc.
- Intermediate math skills and good spatial reasoning.
- Working knowledge of the metric measuring system and use of measuring tools.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Some experience with :
- Hand tools
- Power tools - including but not limited to : drills, jig saws, wireway / din rail cutters, grinders, knockout punches, band saws,
deburring tools, and more.
- Computer skills to include but not limited to : Microsoft Office Suite, CAD Software, and more
- Is detail-oriented and organized; and capable of performing work that is reliable, accurate and thoroughly self-verified.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of experience in CNC Machining preferred
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
