Position Description :
The Project Accountant will help support the project management staff while primarily supporting the Project Manager and Project Engineer.
Position Qualifications :
- Business or Accounting degree.
- Knowledge of construction accounting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to effectively engage different personality types.
- Well organized and detail-oriented.
- A self-starter and great team player.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Must be willing to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed to meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- VBA experience.
- CPA or CPA candidate.
Essential Duties :
- Work closely with Project Engineers and Managers to ensure accurate and consistent financial reporting, revenue recognition, and project billing.
- Understand contract terms and assist Project Managers in performing project start-up, close-out, internal interim audits and maintaining the life cycle of projects.
- Work with staff to provide accurate billings to Owners in accordance with contract terms.
- Review project expenses to ensure accurate posting to projects.
- Reconcile cost data between project cost ledgers and accounting systems.
- Develop, manage and maintain cost controls and labor recaps in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.
- Assist with monthly Margin Analysis and maintenance of Cash Flow Forecast.
- Assist with monthly reporting for Senior Management and Owner.
