Insurgency & Violence Analyst - Security Clearance Required

Overview This position is contingent upon award of contract SOSi is seeking a highly qualified Insurgency & Violence Analyst to serve as the Government’s trusted advisor to individual offices to provide analysis.

Essential Job Duties Conducts analysis and will be part of a small team of analysts. Conducts analysis in insurgency and violence and populating appropriate databases.

Minimum Requirements Active in scope TS / SCI with polygraph clearance required. Bachelor's degree in military history, political science, international relations, security studies, or other social science related discipline (5 years of relevant work experience in analytic support to military analysis will be considered in lieu of a degree).

Two to Five (2 - 5) years of relevant experience, to include : Experience searching classified and unclassified sources, particularly internet-based sources for information on violent incidents and major events.

Demonstrated experience using various presentation formats such as maps, charts, graphs, spreadsheets, and other reports to display results of analysis.

Demonstrated experience updating and manipulating data using Microsoft Office products (especially MS Excel). Proficient in working with and updating an Oracle-based web database system.

Preferred Qualifications Two to Five (2 - 5) years’ experience : Proven research skills on violent incidents and other local events in a country or region, and / or proven research skills on insurgent and terrorist group organization and operations.

Experience working with DoD's incident tracking databases. Familiarity with maintaining incident tracking databases. Familiarity with insurgent and terrorist organizational structures and operational concepts.
