The Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for the oversight of an assigned unit and ensures consistent and quality clinical care for all guests.
This position will plan, implement, direct, and evaluate care to achieve optimal outcomes and work collaboratively with all other disciplines in the assigned unit.

How you will help people every day :
You will promote hospitality and excellent customer service in our every daily interaction with our guests, their families, and visitors.

- You will supervise the nursing team including giving direction & assignments, offering training, and deliver recognition and evaluations.
- You will assess residents to ascertain their condition and to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed
- You will implement standards of nursing practice through the formulation of policies and procedures, and direct the maintenance of required department records.
- You will develop and revise infection control policies and procedures.
- You will investigate suspected outbreaks of infection.
- Provide consultation on infection risk assessment, prevention, and control strategies.
- Keep abreast of trends and developments in the area of extended care facility patient care techniques; follow federal and state skilled nursing facility regulations.
- You will coordinate and present general facility new hire orientation programs to all new employees
- You will develop & deliver clinical orientation and training for new nursing team members including classroom training on specific nursing policies, procedures, and techniques;
observing, assisting and assessing new team members performance; and ensure new members are equipped with the skills necessary to be successful in their new roles.
You will research, design, and implement in-service programs on topics requested to reinforce operational policies / procedures, introduce new techniques, and / or address identified areas of deficiency.
What you will need to be part of our EPIC team :
- Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or higher, and a superior level of knowledge in nursing management in order to manage resident care, and manage large and diverse groups of nursing personnel.
- Current license to practice as an RN in Michigan; current CPR certification
- 3+ years of experience in a long term care facility
- Clinical knowledge of long term care nursing, with ability to anticipate, recognize, and respond to resident needs in a long term care and rehabilitation environment.
