THE ROLE
The Project Manager will provide overall management direction to single or multiple projects Scope-Schedule-Budget; establish project objectives and policies, maintain liaison with prime client contracts, and monitor construction and financial activities through administrative direction of on-site construction manager.
In addition, the Project Manager will establish and review priorities for the Project Engineer. The Project Manager is ultimately responsible for completing each project on time, within budget, and satisfying the customer.

Responsibilities include :
Manage all aspects of mechanical (fuel) related projects, including installation, modification, and demolition of fuel underground / aboveground tanks and large / small diameter piping, hydrant fuel piping, hydrant pits, drain downs, pigging, flushing, and civil related aspects of projects, including concrete demolition and placement and dewatering.
Essential Functions / Skills :
- Analyze projects to determine scope, schedule requirements, budget, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers / vendors on priorities to effectively bring the project within budget and on schedule.
- Work with EHS Department to ensure project safety evaluations, job hazard analysis, and the creation of site-specific health and safety plans.
- Expedite, review, and provide "Quality Control" on shop drawings and submittals.
- Forecast overruns and / or under-runs and omissions related to the job cost.
- Complete material take-offs; Order Material.
- MS Project schedule development & oversight.
- Review, issue, and update Installation Manpower Schedules and 2-week look ahead.
- Estimate and process change order proposals and coordinate with the Estimating Department when required.
- Coordinate all vendor contracts and change orders.
- Direct, measure, and report progress towards project goals.
- Visits job sites regularly and performs work inspections, checks job progress, and resolve project and contract issues
- Reviews and manages the project financials.
THE CANDIDATE
Competencies Preferred :
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products : Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project.
- Strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to understand contract plans and specifications.
- Ability to perform accurate estimating and buying takeoffs for mechanical systems.
- Strong organizational skills and habits
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a high pace environment.
- Construction field experience pipelines & associated facilities a plus Jet Fuel systems a Plus
- History and the ability to maintain high attendance and punctuality in the workplace.
Education / Experience :
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Construction Management or Engineering
- 5+ years’ experience Engineering and / or Project Management preferred
Certificates & Licenses a Plus :
- Licensing as a Professional Engineer, General Contractor
- PMP Certification
Other Training a Plus :
- OSHA 30, HAZWOPER, First Aid
- Knowledge of ASME, NACE, API, DOT, EPA, FERC

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT :
- Hearing and vision within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and prepare, inspect, or review documents.
- Activities require the ability to remain in a stationary position roughly 50% of the time and move about an office and / or worksite the other half of the time.
Must wear steel-toed boots, must wear protective eye-wear, hearing protection, may work outdoors during inclement weather, ability to travel by car or plane, high frequency of computer keyboarding, high frequency of viewing a computer monitor, etc.
Work is performed in-office, vehicles, and outdoor settings, in all weather conditions, including temperature extremes, during the day and night shifts.
Work is often performed in emergency and stressful situations. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate in other situations.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS :
- 25 50%, anywhere in the US.
- Will depend on the phase of the project, but approximately bi-weekly for a couple of days to check status.
- Some phases of the project may require 1 2 weeks consecutively at the job site.
