The Fire Alarm and Security System Technician is responsible for troubleshooting low voltage Fire Alarm and Security Systems and resolving any problems.
This position requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm and security products, supporting software, and electrical systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installation, Service, and Inspections of Fire Alarms and associated systems
Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections
Communicate with customer before and after any call to explain work performed
Ensure timely job completion
Daily communications with Project Manager and / or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job
Take turns in On-Call rotation
May Mentor Fire and / or Security technicians on tools and technology
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes
Minimum 2 years’ field experience in inspection, repair, and installation of fire alarm and security system systems
Extensive knowledge of low voltage systems
Experience working with Fire-Lite and Notifier brands of equipment
Ability to read blueprints
Proficient in the use of computers and smartphones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
High Level of Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills required
Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision
Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Work Environment
The technician would have to travel around to different job sites and troubleshoot and maintain different fire alarm systems.
The consultant will receive a company vehicle and a company gas card. It's a take home vehicle and the only time they have to report to the office is if they need to pick up some sort of equipment.
The company will also provide all tools except hand tools. m-f 8-5. There is na on call rotation one day a week that rotates m-f before they eventually have 2 weeks with no on-call duties.

They have acquired new customers that they need to support and have created new ways of making money. If they don't get extra resources they won't be able to do all of the new work they have brought in and that will obviously be detrimental to them
