About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Specialty : Clinical Coordination & Staffing Float Pool Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12 Hour Days Guaranteed Hours : 36 per week Experience : Minimum of 1.
5 years of general nursing experience; BSN required License : Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : - PCU level RN experience and willingness to float to MedSurg / Tele- Previous float pool experience (if first-time traveler)- Experience with titration of common drips such as Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levo, Dopamine, Insulin- Skills in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV starts, blood product administration, CIWA, drain / tube management, and catheter insertion / management- Experience with cardiac procedural recovery Job Description : This is a float pool position, requiring the RN to float throughout various units.
- Common units include : Ortho / Neuro / Surgical, Medical, Progressive Care, Oncology, and Heart and Vascular.- Patient Types : Orthopedics, Neuro, Surgical, Medical, Intermediate Care, Oncology, Heart, and Vascular.
- Common Diagnoses : Orthopedics, Stroke, Surgical, Medical conditions like UTI, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Alcohol Withdrawal, etc.
- Patient Ratios : RN : 1 : 4-5- Support on the Unit : CNA, Charge Nurse, Phlebotomy, RT, and Hospitalist available.- Charting System / Equipment : Proficiency in Epic required.
- Required to float within or below the scope of practice, and potentially to ICU if competent.- Orientation : 2 days facility, 3 shifts unit-based.
- Scheduling : Day shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
