The Clinical Fellowship Supervisor will oversee and support speech-language pathology clinical fellows during their fellowship period, ensuring they receive comprehensive training and mentoring to develop their clinical skills and meet certification requirements.
What you'll do as the Clinical Fellowship Supervisor :
- Provide supervision, guidance, and mentorship to speech-language pathology clinical fellows as they complete their clinical fellowship year.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans (ILPs) for each clinical fellow, outlining goals, objectives, and milestones for their professional development.
- Conduct regular evaluations and assessments of clinical fellows' progress and clinical competencies.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to clinical fellows to enhance their clinical skills and decision-making abilities.
- Collaborate with clinical coordinators and other healthcare professionals to facilitate clinical experiences and learning opportunities for clinical fellows.
- Ensure compliance with certification and licensure requirements for clinical fellows.
- Facilitate discussions and case reviews to promote clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice among clinical fellows.
- Coordinate and participate in meetings, seminars, and workshops to support the professional growth and development of clinical fellows.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to clinical fellowship supervision and progress evaluations.
To be a Success as the Clinical Fellowship Supervisor
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP).
- Current California license or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience as clinical experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist is preferred
- Experience in supervising or mentoring speech-language pathology clinical fellows preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech therapy principles, practices, and techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Demonstrated organizational and managerial skill
- You will be assigned to a primary location, however you will be expected to be available to cover for vacancies, leave of absences, as well as supporting increased census and client care needs outside of the assigned area.
