Member Services Representative

Job Summary : The Member Services Representative will assist customers with purchasing services and merchandise in person, on the computer system, and on the phones.

Essential functions and responsibilities : Greets and interacts with customers including answering phone system. Consults with customers to understand their needs and preferences related to services and merchandise.

Demonstrates and explains services and merchandise, selecting and suggesting options suitable for the customers’ needs. Assists customers with purchase decisions.

Schedules reservations for grooming, training, daycare appointments. Collects payment using the store point of sale system.

Performs Daycare attendant duties as assigned or as necessary. Maintains regular communication with supervisor to report problems or safety hazards.

Represents PUPS in a professional and positive manner. Competencies : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal, listening, and customer service skills. Extensive knowledge of the services / merchandise sold.

Ability to recommend services / merchandise to customers. Ability to operate or to quickly learn the club’s point-of-sale system.

Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Education and Experience : High school diploma or GED.

1 to 3 years of retail, or customer service experience preferred. Basic computer skills including a point-of-sale (POS) system preferred.

Effective communication skills. A love for dogs. Physical Requirements : Stand or walk for long periods of time. Able to safely lift dogs of up to 50 lbs.
