From the moment an emergency medical situation occurs, we are ready to help with the highest level of children’s medical care possible.
Helen Devos Children’s Hospital is a Level I trauma center. While we treat minor illnesses and injuries, we are also prepared with a pediatric trauma care team that provides care for severe injuries.
We’re proud to have the only pediatric emergency department in West Michigan, which is designed specifically for children and staffed by experts in pediatric emergency medicine.
Recognized as experts in pediatric trauma and burn care with specially trained physicians and nurses available 24 hours a day to care for unexpected or severe injuries.

Scope of work
Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Provider.
Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Collects and reports physiological, psychological, sociocultural and spiritual needs of patients and families in coordination with and as delineated by the RN or Provider.
Responsibilities include taking vitals, checking blood sugars, bed bathing, ambulating, wound care, catheterization and acting as a safety attendant for patients.
Ensures that required documentation is performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Start Dates :
This role has specific start dates each year, with one start date a month. Any offers must be completed 2 weeks prior to this start date with no exceptions.

Qualifications
- Hight School Diploma or equivalent Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
