MHCS, a full-service public accounting firm located in West Des Moines, IA, provides a complete range of services including audit, tax, business advisory, accounting, consulting and financial planning.

We are currently seeking a motivated team player with 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience to lead multiple client engagements.

Responsibilities :

• Perform first or second level review on engagements, including complex tax returns, and provide timely feedback to staff, seniors and supervisors.
• Conduct advanced tax planning and research.
• Manage, develop, train and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and quarterly reviews.
• Maintain active communication with clients to serve as business advisor, manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and lead change efforts effectively.
• Perform business development including networking and marketing MHCS services to new and existing clients.
• Gain an understanding of client operations and business objectives including firm processes and procedures while supporting leadership decisions.
• Remain current on all CPE requirements and applicable law changes / updates.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Master’s degree preferred).
• 5+ years of recent public accounting tax experience, including 2+ years at a supervisory level.
• CPA license.
• Strong technical skills with the ability to professionally manage engagements to budget.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local level regulations.
• Positive attitude and sound judgment with strong communication, organizational, leadership, supervisory, and computer skills including Word, Excel and tax software proficiency.

We provide a competitive base salary of $121,000 - $147,500 annually, commensurate with experience, an excellent benefits package, an ideal work / life balance including flexible schedules, work from anywhere arrangements, reduced summer hours, professional growth and advancement, and a friendly, professional, supportive, and collaborative office environment.
